Ways On Doing An Oriental Rug Cleaning

Oriental rugs are made from heavy textiles for the use of different symbolic and utilitarian purposes. These are being produced in the Oriental countries and are used in homes, local sales, and exports. These carpets can either be flat woven or pile woven. Examples of these would range from pillow to large sizes and carpets that are room sized. It also include floor covering, prayer rugs, altar covers, carrier bags, animal decorations, and ark covers.

These became very known due to its rich colors and also its unique designs. These have different varieties and shapes. Most of the common materials used are wool or cotton but other types are used with synthetic and silk materials. Just like other rugs, these oriental ones are very prone also dirt. The purpose of this article is to provide you with the different ways when doing an oriental rug cleaning CA.

This method is consist of 3 parts and these are the deep cleaning, precautions, and quick cleaning. Quick cleaning requires the checking of important precautions. Read the precautions or labels in the backing. Lifting the material can be done to see it. Each kind of material requires separate amount of finesse if cleaned. Generally, cotton and wool carpets are easily cleaned and have greater amount of durability.

Vacuum the carpet regularly, ideally once in a week. This can lift the debris and the dirt, thus, making it look new even for a long time. Vacuuming will also prevent the fibers of wool to pack down. Rugs should also be kept out from sunlight. Sunlight may cause it to be damaged and colors may fade. Test it if it is colorfast. You may put a small of water to small part at the corner and try tapping a white cloth into it.

Next is moving furniture after every six months that are placed on top of carpets for avoiding damaged fibers. Quick cleaning is a second part of method. The rug must be cleaned by the use of broom with straw bristles. Try to avoid rubbing brooms to not damage the material. Vacuum all the parts, even the backing for removing the excess dirt, abrasives, and hair.

Shaking it can be done also for the removal of dust particles. For big materials, hang them on your clothesline and beat them with your hands. For liquids that are spilled out into it, avoid the stains to stick by getting cold water and blotting it up to the stain immediately.

And the last part is deep cleaning. Vacuum each side of a rug. You may want to bring it outside or to any wide area with flat surface. Vacuum it until most debris and dirt are lifted. After vacuuming, shake it for removing any additional debris or dirt. Spray both sides using cold water.

Then get a water filled bucket and mixed it with a liquid detergent or a dish soap. Ideally, measurements are one gallon water and three tablespoons soap. The solution must be tested through placing a particular amount to a tiny portion with using sponge or brush. Just wait for 10 minutes for the result.

If that particular portion was cleaned, do the same process to other parts, then rinse the rug after with water. See to it that suds are properly washed off. Avoid over wetting for avoiding mold growth. Dry it first before making use of it again.
